The ultimate reason to start now is because I have some fun adventures coming up soon that I'm excited to write about--and remember. The first is a Group Study Exchange sponsored by Rotary International to the Eastern Caribbean that I've been selected to be apart of with 3 other young ladies and a team leader for a cultural and vocational exchange. 30 days divided between 4 islands: Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Barbados. Sounds like paradise, right?!? The team and I are told that this experience is pretty intense. We will be staying with host families on each island to really experience the culture and will be presenting to Rotary clubs on each island as well as attending several vocational visits per each day. Sounds as if we will be on-the-go the entire trip and very sleep deprived, but I'm up for the challenge!

The other adventure is purely a pleasure trip to Japan with my 14 year old daughter, Shea. We are traveling around Japan for 32 days with a stop on Oahu, Hawaii to show her where she was born and raised during the first year of her life. We will be traveling by bullet train (Shinkansen/JR train) between Tokyo, Nikko, Hakone, Mt. Koya-San, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Iwakuni. You'll be hearing from Shea throughout this trip as it is during school and I want to ensure she has several writing assignments!
So, here we go! My first post! Not so bad...
Smiles,
Shelly
